Abstract

This research aims to examine the effect of online media exposure on the spiritual attitude of eleventh-grade students at Immanuel Christian Private High School Medan. The study was conducted in June–July 2023 involving class XI students as the research participants. The total population in this study consisted of 30 students. Considering the small population size, the research used a census sampling technique in which all members of the population were included as the research sample. The independent variable in this study is online media exposure, while the dependent variable is students’ spiritual attitude. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to the respondents. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques and Spearman Rank correlation analysis (rs) to determine the relationship between the variables. The results of the study indicate that online media exposure has a positive and significant relationship with students’ spiritual attitudes. This is evidenced by the calculated t value of 6.75 which is greater than the t-table value at the 0.05 significance level (2.045). These findings indicate that appropriate and responsible exposure to online media can support the development of positive spiritual attitudes among students.
